Statistical Consulting Collaboratory

The UCR Statistical Consulting Collaboratory is a campus resource resulting from an initial collaboration between UCR' s College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHASS), the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS), and Computing and Communications (C&C). The Collaboratory provides UCR faculty and graduate students with an environment for collaboration in research and instruction, emphasizing statistical / quantitative approaches. The Collaboratory will maintain a faculty/graduate student computer lab, to be used primarily for quantitative / statistical analysis, research seminars, workshops, and vendor presentations (including short courses for faculty and graduate students on quantitative / statistical software, applications, uses, etc.).

The Multimedia Production and Instruction Facility is an 18 seat classroom/computer lab and is located in Arts 311. It is equipped with Apple G5 computers, gigabit ethernet connections, 22" Cinema Displays, numerous high-end scanners and printers, and a variety of multimedia software to support digital imaging, video, music/audio, and graphic and theatre design applications. The classes that use the lab are supported by an Apple Xserve with 1.2 terabytes of storage. Courses that are currently using the lab include:

  • Sequencer Composition
  • Introduction to 3D Digital Modelling
  • Counterpoint
  • Introduction to Digital Photography
  • Intermediate Video Art
